the cutting room floor

Editing often is about removing scenes, characters, sub-plots and other things in order to more efficiently and effectively tell the story.
As writer/director/editor you may think I’d have a hard time cutting parts of “my baby”.
Turns out I’m usually more brutal to my movies than an outside editor. If I don’t think something adds to the story, I cut it no problem. I’ve been told on other projects (not Hellphone so far) to add stuff back in to help the story.
