LOCAL INDEPENDENT HORROR FILM SLATED FOR MID-NOVEMBER PREMIER
GREENSBORO, N.C. — (OCTOBER 12, 2010) – Hellphone, an independent feature length horror movie, will premier on Tuesday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Carousel Luxury Cinemas, 1305 Battleground Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27408. This is the first feature length collaboration between award winning, local filmmakers Jason Marc Pierce and Stephen van Vuuren. “As independent horror film producers, we are charged with taking audiences on a roller coaster ride of emotions,” says movie writer, director and producer, Jason Marc Pierce. “The entire movie was shot on a micro-budget and uses CGI (computer generated imagery), visual effects, action, stunts and surround sound to enhance the audience’s experience, while scaring them and making them laugh at the same time.”
“Hellphone is a community based effort and we are fortunate to have the support of the Piedmont Film Commission, Rockingham County and other Triad business sponsors,” says movie producer, composer and DP, Stephen van Vuuren. “Hellphone’s success is due in great part to the area film community who provided expertise and technical direction with the movie’s visual effects and CGI.”
“Jason has attended countless special events we’ve hosted at our theater, so while we’re always happy to provide a venue for local filmmakers, it’s doubly great to help one who appreciates what we do,” says Joe Scott, Promotions Coordinator for the Carousel Luxury Cinemas. “We’ve been supporters of Hellphone since day one and are thrilled to help Hellphone and its producers and writers come full circle.”

The official Hellphone trailer will be unveiled on Thursday, October 28 as part of the Carousel Luxury Cinemas’ The Mixed Tape Series in which Army of Darkness will be featured. Show times are 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. and the Hellphone movie trailer will be played before each showing.
